Another Royal Elk The Bambers' dream of seeing elk from their front window has been more than fulfilled! Don Bamber manages a 100% certified organic ranch and plans to keep it that way. He adopts an extensive management style capitalizing on the natural adaptations of elk.

The animals are maintained on pasture throughout the year. They roam incredibly beautiful rolling land and can retreat to the security of the steep breaks of the river. It wasn't easy to fence, says Don, but its value shows in the animals.

Don's concern for drug-free products and the welfare of the animals explains his interest in new means to control pain during antler removal. He is marketing an electronic anaaesthesia device originally developed by dentists. Electonic depolarization of nerves at the base of the antler, deadens pain when antlers are removed.
